Camping and Surfing in Somo, Spain

[You can see the start of our Spain road trip HERE.]

I can't wait to share with you all one of my top recommended and little known about places in Spain!

Dave and I picked up my friend on our road trip thru Spain who was nannying in a city called Logrono for the summer. We spent the evening in Logrono and enjoyed a wonderful home cooked meal by the family she was working for. The next morning all 3 of us hit the road again after a walk thru the vineyards around their home.

The mom that my friend was living with made these awesome "VIVIR ES INCREDIBLE" friendship bracelets for us.

It was my friends idea to take us to an awesome city called Somo about 2 hours away from Logrono to enjoy some quality beach time away from all the craziness of Barcelona. Even though we have all attempted surfing before, we still decided to take surf lessons from Escuela Cantabra de Surf since they were very affordable.

We found out about a place to camp from the same surf shop that we took lessons from. I am so glad that we ended up camping! The place was called camping latas and it was only 15$ per person and the tents were already all set up. I am pretty sure that the tent set up was something the surf shop coordinated, so if you are ever in Somo, definitely check out THIS surf shop for the lessons, renting equipment and more info on locating the camping site with tents ready to go!

If you do head to Escuela Cantabra de Surf, check out Koorie Australian Bar right behind the surf shop. It is a cute little place to relax and get out of the sun for a bit.

The place we took lessons from also took photos the whole time we were out in the waves and I had no idea until the end! Here are just a few of the hundreds of photos they took while we were out surfing:

If camping isn't your thing, the surf shop's website also listed reasonably priced accommodation HERE.

Love this crazy chick!
If you have the chance to check out Somo, Spain - do it!
